Bob Shands lives in Olathe, KS with his wife, Adriane and children Alicia Fulson, 18, Chantel Fulson, 16, Brandon Fulson, 14, and Bobby Shands, 5.  After a 36 year career in real estate and financial services, Bob now devotes his time to activities that promote understanding across racial, ethnic and religious lines.  He and Adriane are active in the community, serving on many boards and committees.  He is a frequent speaker to civic, religious and governmental groups as well as corporations.

Bob was born in Spartanburg, SC in 1949.  At the age of 3, he moved to Gaffney, SC with his family.  In 1953, the family moved to Atlanta, GA where they lived until the summer of 1963.  The ten years he lived in Atlanta included the most formative years of Bob’s life.  Atlanta was definitely the Jim Crow Deep South.  His experiences in those years greatly impacted his life.
